Andy career journey is marked by a series of significant roles that have shaped his professional development. Prior to his current position, he served as a supervising attorney and managing director at JC Law. Before joining JC Law, he was the managing director at Marble, where he played a crucial role in expanding the firm’s operations in Virginia. Before this, he was the managing attorney at Patzig Law, a firm he established to focus exclusively on family law. Despite facing financial challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he ensured the economic well-being of his staff until the firm’s closure.

Earlier in his career, Andy was the owner of the Law Office of W. Andrew Patzig and served as business regulation counsel at Portfolio Recovery Associates Inc. He also held positions as an associate at the Law Offices of Heath J. Thompson P.C. and as chief executive officer and owner of 411 for Fathers during the same period. His legal career began with a role as a law clerk at the Buchanan County Commonwealth’s Attorney Office.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Patzig has an extensive background in technology and business management. He worked as a lead programmer and system administrator at Activenation and as an inventory control analyst at Heilig-Meyers.

Andy’s academic achievements have been instrumental in his success. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in business management and a Bachelor of Science in information systems, both from Radford University. He also obtained a Juris Doctor from Appalachian School of Law, where he was actively involved in community service projects and received a Community Service Award for his contributions.

Andy was admitted to practice law by the DC Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar. He is a committee member of the Virginia Beach Bar Association and a past board member of the Chesapeake Bar Association. He is also a member of several industry-related organizations, including the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, the United States Bankruptcy Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Andy is deeply committed to supporting teenagers transitioning out of guardianship. He has been actively involved in their lives, providing guidance and support even after they have aged out of the system. His dedication to these young adults is one of his proudest achievements.

In his personal life, Andy is devoted to his family. Looking ahead, he plans to advance and expand his division in Virginia with the goal of cultivating a cohort of adept attorneys who can comprehensively understand the intricacies of family law, particularly regarding preserving relationships involving children.

He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in business management in 1999 and a Bachelor of Science in information systems in 2003, both from Radford University.
